Quedelix-5K DAC/AMP is a miracle of engineering on several levels. The most impressive of these is the real 10 and 20-band Peq found in its accompanying application. You throw Bluetooth Hi-Rés, MEMS microphones for phone calls and uniform and balanced outputs (2.5 mm) and you have one of the most versatile mobile DACs on the market.
Cedelix-5K: Price and availability
Quedelix-5K is available directly from Quedelix for $ 109 or from Amazon for $ 110. You will probably not find it dirty, but for your Emperor with Quedelix-5K, and compared to its competition is $ 110 fair price.
Some people may have a problem with a plastic body at this price, but they don’t feel cheap and there is a reason for this compilation decision. We’ll get into it in time.
Qudelix-5K: Build and Fit
Qudelix-5K feels very light in hand, although it has heavy hardware and software functions. It has a plastic body that ensures that you get a solid connection of Bluetooth with a source of music. Metal bodies tend to alleviate radio frequency signals. For example, look at your home router. Metal or plastic? Internally you get a lot for $ 110. 5K is full of BT 5.0 chipset and dual ES9219 Saber HiFi DAC, which supports clear and balanced outputs and highly sensitivity of MEMS for telephone calls.
You can find externally at the top of the unit next to the ports of 3.5 mm and 2.5 mm. On the underside of the unit is a handy spring loaded aluminum clip and two confusing buttons on the sides. Nor is it marked and this is the only pain I have with the external settings. One button is a rocker volume and on the other side of the unit you have a power button that also controls Bluetooth: pairing, playback, skipping stops and phone calls. Once turned on, the buttons are shining in red and blue when you press, which makes it easier to use. The BlueTooth function controls the blue button.
In addition to tagging the buttons, my only problem is the choice of the 2.5 mm Intetead port 4.4 mm port. I am sure this decision was based on the size, that I would take a larger 5K for a 4.4 mm port. Reading online forums is a common complaint that relatively few people have set out the small 2.5 mm pins. Your number of mileage may vary.
Qudelix-5K: Function
The Quedelix-5K offers great support for Bluetooth streaming that the iPhone will not be able to use. In addition to standard SBC and AAC, you will also receive support for APTX Adaptive, LDAC and APTX HD. This is an important note of Becard App support for your computer on your computer via the Chrome plug-in. Even with the lack of iOS Bluetooth Codec iOS, you should still download the Becaus iOS and iPad OS Gode EQ, which works in all your applications. However, the Quedelix settings are ubiquitous and stored directly in the 5K internal storage. This means that it is configured to your liking, this sound profile will persist across each device that you connect to it: because the phone, tablet, computer, etc. also persists regardless of which music applications you use on mobile devices.
The most important function of the application is a 20-band Pequ, which can also be set to a 10-band independent PeQ. This is where 5K shines. When you immerse yourself in the world of “coloring” of your sound to your liking, this is a great way to hear how to change the EQ curve affects your sound in real time. This is a welcome function for audiophiles and a great teaching tool for audiophile neophytes. The best of all is that you can save up to 20 of your ECV.
Certainly, other manufacturers have offered EQ support, but it is often not true Peq. Generally you get EQ preferences or simple 3 or 5 EQ support without the possibility for things such as preveillance, headroom, high-end filters, high or low-off filters and Q FACTOR (frequency width).
The application will also show you the statistics and statistics for your current input (BT or USB-C), will show you important battery/energy consumption statistics, providing you with profit and gross and fine checks over the volume with separate phone and 5K volumes. Note that you can also control the volume directly from the 5K itself.
QUEDELIX 5K: sound quality
Separately beautifully sound Quedelix-5K. He does not have such a large sound scene or a spark that my current favorite, iffu, which has a Blu, but it does not have a Peq. The goal is again the power of 5K. I involved Sennheiser’s $ 1500, IE900, up to Quedelix 5K, and the first 3.5 mm cable listening was amazing. The sound is well supportive and nuanced, pleasure.
Then I connected the 2.5mm cable to get a balanced output power, turned on Pequ and added the bottom to the lowering and bass at 31 and 63 Hz and sweet Christmas, grinning on my ear like a cat Cheshire when I played “start rebellion”: Spider-Verse Soundtrack! It is a delicious Mix Dolby Atmos, which shows what can be achieved when the manufacturer now, how to use these tools. IEM is not at all. With the Peq 5K they will only become, but Central and top clarity does not diminish. Bass on this song became absolutely dark and ugly and forces me to get into the circle and bang of skin with one of my Thai friends Muay.
PEQ settings can have pleasant music and make it exceed. They can take you out of listening and have an experience of the listing. With the right headphones or IEM, race.
This is the last note about Quedelix-5K. I threw a few headphones and sensitive, low and high-quality IEMS and all managed it with an aplomb.
Quedelix 5K: Competition
There are several other options for $ 100, but none of them offered a real PeQ like Qudelix-5K. For example, FIO options will give you EQ customization via their application, but the level and variety of customization are larger at 5K.
The nearest device is the BTR15 FIIO, which has MQA support and native DSD support for the same $ 110. It also included an OLED display that does not have 5K and wears 4.4 mm Intear 2.5 mm balanced output. Shanling has its UP4 2022, which is larger, has a larger battery and includes support for LHDC. All of them have unambiguous and balanced outputs, but the app makes everything different, so I would choose a QuEdelix 5K compared to its competition.
Qudelix-5K: Should you buy it?
You should buy Qudelix-5K Bluetooth DAC/AMP if …
- You are interested in fine -tuning
- Costs are the primary factor when purchasing DAC
- Want DAC for Alm Mostry any source
You should not buy Qudelix-5K Bluetooth DAC/AMP if …
- You don’t need Bluetooth connection
- You prefer 4.4 mm outputs
Quedelix-5K is worth the cost of parametric EQ! When considering all other units, I think this device is for those who want to learn about their ideal audio curve, or those whose whus know how to want devices they can take at any time and connect to the alfost of any sound resources. 5K can even be used as a preamplifier.
If TRUE PEQ wakes up your interest, don’t look for anymore. That’s the one.
